“I Love Your Cross!”

“I love your Cross!” The cashier said this to me as I approached her to order a coffee at Tim Horton’s. She quickly followed with: “You hardly see people wearing a Cross anymore.” I responded: “You’re right and do you know why? They are afraid to get crucified.” I should have said ‘persecuted’ instead but in this increasingly hedonistic and anti-Christ world that we live in the word ‘crucified’ makes the point much better and more realistically.

More and more people today are choosing to live a life in the shadows and bondage of demons rather than in the light and freedom and joy of Jesus Christ.

 Again therefore, Jesus spoke to them, saying: I am the light of the world: he that followeth me, walketh not in darkness, but shall have the light of life. (John 8:12 )

Christians are being persecuted and martyred for their faith throughout the world. ( https://www.opendoorsusa.org/ ) As the persecution increases many Christians are going more and more into seclusion. However, as always throughout history, there is always a loyal and faithful remnant of those who will not deny their conscience nor their Saviour, Jesus Christ.  Jesus said in Matthew 10:32-33: Every one therefore that shall confess me before men, I will also confess him before my Father who is in heaven. [33] But he that shall deny me before men, I will also deny him before my Father who is in heaven.” I entreat you, think again and again before you deny Christ in your life. The consequences are eternal.

SAINT JOHN THE BAPTIST, PROPHET OF TRUTH.

Prior to going to Tim Horton’s I attended Mass this morning. It was the Feast Day of Saint John the Baptist. The mission of this great prophet was to preach and prepare the coming of Jesus Christ, Savior of the world. John the Baptist in his role as a mighty Prophet paid the price with his life and his head. It was handed to King Herod on a platter. John had denounced the sins of the flesh of King Herod. Just as John the Baptist was hated and martyred for speaking the ‘truth’ we also can expect similar treatment in this increasingly pagan, hedonistic and relativistic age.

My question to all Christians is: “Are we willing, and ready to suffer persecution and possibly martyrdom, like Saint John the Baptist as we take a stand as bearers of God’s Truth in Love. Are we willing to defend our ‘freedom of conscience’ and our ‘Catholic Faith’?

Are we willing like St John the Baptist to take a stand and denounce the ‘sins of the flesh’ today.
The sins of contraception, the sins of being on the birth control pill, the sin of extra-marital sex, the sins of pornography, and the sin of homosexuality. (  https://striveforheavennow.ca/the-gospel-of-life/sin-sex/ )

To speak the truth in love about these sins of the flesh is not to incite hate. To the contrary we do so because if these people repent as a result of our admonitions we will have saved their soul from spending eternity in Hell. Exposing their sinful lifestyle is a great gesture of love on our part, for those caught in the web of the sins of the flesh.

WE ARE BORN FOR SPIRITUAL COMBAT.

Pope Leo XIII said in ‘Sapientiae Christiana’ (1890) that we are born for combat.” Yes, we are born for spiritual combat. With the Cross before us and the world behind us together let us fight the good fight of Faith. The ‘Culture of Death/Murder’ is our biggest foe.

The ‘Culture of Death/Murder’ has never before been so evident in every aspect of our lives. It’s abominable  ‘source’  is the birth control pill. (Cf: https://striveforheavennow.ca/will-the-pill-be-your-one-way-ticket-to-hell-for-all-eternity/ )

John Vennari gave an excellent talk at the “Consecration Now!” conference held in Rome in May 2011. His talk is titled “The New Paganism and The War Against Life”. He explains well the war against innocent and helpless human life at all stages of life. HUMAN DIGNITY BECOMING A THING OF THE PAST.

Respect for human dignity from the moment of conception till natural death is a ‘thing of the past’. The Devil has his puppets throughout the world, especially in places of political leadership. Justin Trudeau recently made public that he is ‘resolutely pro-choice’. He will insist that anyone who desires to be a part of the Liberal Party must support women’s ‘right to choose’. Yes, to choose to abort, to kill their unwanted, unborn child. Already a Liberal M.P who formerly was ‘pro-life’ is now joining the pro-choice ranks of Justin Trudeau. Liberal M.P Lawrence MacAuley says that while he is personally pro-life he will vote the party position should this issue come up in the House of Commons. What will be our reaction to such attacks as Justin Trudeau’s against our ‘freedom of conscience’ and our ‘Catholic Faith’? Will we deny our conscience as MP Lawrence MacAulay did or have the courage to speak up?! We are in a war. Are we willing to fight this Culture of Death/Murder with the weapons of Truth and Love?  (CF: https://striveforheavennow.ca/truthmartyrdom/ ) With the grace of God and a deep prayer life we can be used by Jesus and Mary to win many battles and eventually the war.

Many of the great Saints such as Saint John Paul II, Saint Louis Marie Grignion de Montfort, Saint Maximilian Kolbe, had a great Marian and Eucharistic devotion.

Whenever and wherever Mary appears in the world Her message is always the same: “Repent, turn to Jesus, fast and pray for the conversion of souls and peace in the world.” In God’s time Mary’s Immaculate Heart will triumph over the evil in the world.

I tell them:”What you see here is John 3:16:”  For God so loved the world, as to give his only begotten Son; that whosoever believeth in him, may not perish, but may have life everlasting.”

And the Miraculous Medal represents Mary. Wear her medal, consecrate yourself to her and she will miraculously intervene in your life and bring you to her son, Jesus Christ whose precious blood will wash away all your sins.

WHY I LOVE THE CROSS

This is why I love the Cross. The Cross is the greatest treasure to be discovered. The Cross is God’s ‘Love and Mercy’ offered to us sinners through the Passion and crucifixion of His only Son, our Lord Jesus Christ.

The Cross is our bridge to Eternal Life in Heaven, saving us from an Eternity in Hell.

Jesus said in John 14:6: “ Jesus saith to him: I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No man cometh to the Father, but by me.”

Jesus also said to those who want to follow Him: ” And calling the multitude together with his disciples, he said to them: If any man will follow me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.” Put your focus on the Cross and evil will flee before you!

Do you ‘love the Cross? It’s the most important question you will ever answer. Your eternity, with or without God depends on it!
